Now expanded to a two-day event, the DBTAC: Mid-Atlantic ADA Center will be hosting this year’s ADA Update Conference on September 16 & 17, at the Hilton Baltimore BWI Airport.
This year's conference will cover topics requested from the public, with presentations from invited panelists from several federal agencies and experts from the field. New this year is the addition of three pre-conference sessions. These will be taking place on September 16 from 9 am until 11:30 am. Registered participants will have the option to choose from the following topics:
- Pre-session A: Accessibility Surveys: Common Problems, Solutions, and Measuring Tips.
- Pre-session B: ADA, FMLA, & Worker's Compensation
- Pre-session C: ADA Intermediate
The conference begins at 1 pm on September 16, with an afternoon filled of concurrent sessions, with topics ranging from Accessibility Survey Checklist, Law Overview, Reasonable Accommodations, Emergency Preparedness, among others.
It continues on September 17 with a morning panel with representatives from the U.S. Access Board, the U.S. department of Justice, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), and the Federal Transit Administration. After lunch, there will be a special presentation of My Black Bird Has Flown Away – a monologue about the life of Hugh Gregory Gallagher. The 2010 ADA Update concludes with a round of three concurrent sessions.
